I am a percussionist, educator, project manager, artistic director and arts collaborator. I like to grow veggies and bake things. I like to play, listen, think, talk, move and feel. I am passionate about how education in the arts can bring people together and open up minds to unforeseen possibilities. I like to read novels about faraway places and articles on how to live more sustainably. I like hiking in the outdoors and keeping fit. I like listening to music.

Erica completed a Master of Music Performance in Percussion and Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the University of Melbourne with Timothy Hook and Robert Cossom. While there, she was awarded the J.S Bach prize and received a scholarship to study with Montreal Symphony Orchestra timpanist Andrei Malashenko at McGill University (Canada). In 2009, Erica received a grant from the Cybec Foundation to participate in a Winter Music Creative Residency at the Banff Centre, Canada.

Erica has received a number of grants for her involvement in professsional and community projects, including the Moonee Valley Foundation Scholarship in 2009 to direct and produce The Falling Colours of Autumn project, a City of Melbourne ArtPlay grant in 2012 to direct a series of workshops where children respond to live music using paint called Paint What You Hear, and most recently in 2014 a City of Melbourne grant to direct the multi-disciplinary project, Silhouettes, inside outside at fortyfivedownstairs.

Erica is currently employed as an instrumental percussion teacher, Community Engagement Officer at Victorian Opera and is coordinator of Crashendo!, an El Sistema-inspired music program at Laverton College. She is also a teaching artist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Erica is an avid performer, enjoys playing various gigs around Melbourne and is co-founder of Tungsten Duo and the award-winning percussion trio, BED Percussion.
