TASTING NOTES

TarraWarra Estate, Yarra Valley
30 November, 2014

Elisse Kleiner and I have teamed up with TarraWarra Estate in the Yarra Valley – one of Australia’s most renowned wineries – to present a performance of specially commissioned chamber music works inspired by a selection of TarraWarra Estate wines.

Four exceptional wines, four imaginative pieces of music.

Local composer David Paterson, whose works have been performed at The Edge, Federation Square and Sydney City Recital Hall, is being commissioned to write four short pieces of original Australian chamber music. The new works will be performed by the Vanguard Quartet, which brings together Melbourne Symphony Orchestra musicians Sarah Curro on violin and Stephen Newton on double bass with Elisse Kleiner on flute and Erica Rasmussen on percussion.

Set in TarraWarra’s stunning barrel hall, the audience will be invited to enjoy tastings of the featured wines while listening to live performances of the works they inspired. The bringing together of live music and fine wine will offer an invigorating inter-sensory experience.
