Tungsten Duo

In 2010 Tungsten Duo presented their first concert series at the Collins Street Baptist Church and since then performance highlights have included Mount Beauty Music Festival, Melbourne City Library’s Acoustica Concert, Warrandyte Festival, Moonee Valley Festival and the ‘Falling Colours of Autumn’ concert, a community music/art project directed by Erica Rasmussen.

Tungsten Duo plays many different styles of music – from baroque to contemporary, from tango to Middle Eastern – and takes particular interest in performing new works by local and international composers.

In 2010 they commissioned Melbourne Symphony Orchestra percussionist Robert Cossom to write music especially for their instrumentation. The work titled ‘She Cannot Fade’ features on Tungsten Duo’s debut self-titled CD.

Tungsten Duo has performed works by Robert Cossom, Hugh Crosthwaite, Michael Udow, Andrew Chubb, Ross Edwards, Payton MacDonald, Astor Piazzolla, Alice Gomez, Harvey Sollberger, Brett Abigana and more.
